The Career Education Manager, Employer and Industry Relations, leads employer engagement approaches that connect SFU students with employers, alumni, and industry partners through recruitment initiatives, career education programming, and employer-led activities. The role strengthens student career readiness by integrating labour market knowledge, employer perspectives, and career development theory into programming, advising, resources, and curricular or co-curricular learning experiences. This position will help expand and sustain local, national, and international employer relationships; support career fairs, networking events, industry panels, and job posting platform activity; and use student, employer, and recruitment data to improve access to opportunities. The role also works closely with faculties and campus partners to embed career-connected learning across disciplines and strengthen alignment between academic study, student learning, and future career pathways. The ideal candidate combines strong employer relations expertise with a foundation in career development and student learning. They are skilled at building partnerships with employers while also supporting students through career exploration, job search, networking, and recruitment processes. They bring strong facilitation, advising, communication, and project-management skills, and are comfortable delivering career education in both individual and group settings. The successful candidate is collaborative, equity-minded, and able to translate employer and labour market insight into meaningful learning experiences that improve student career readiness and access to opportunities.
