About The Position

Tallahassee State College (TSC) is seeking a full-time grant-funded Career Development Specialist to provide services related to Compass 100 Hybrid and supplemental in-cell assignments through cell-front instruction for eligible participants in restrictive housing. This role involves administering assessments, delivering curriculum, maintaining documentation, reporting program data, and assisting with pre-release planning and employment services.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma
• Two (2) years of professional experience in the workforce development, social services or corrections field
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry

Nice To Haves

• An Associate’s Degree and one year of experience in the social services or corrections field

Responsibilities

• Administration and interpretation of assessments
• Delivery of the 100-Hour Transition Skills Program curriculum
• Delivery of other programs as determined by the Department
• Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered
• Reporting monthly attendance, program enrollments, and completions on the Department’s approved form, DC5-149 “Correctional Daily Attendance Roster”
• Providing information pertaining to pre-release connections of community providers and employers for inmate release planning services to facility release officers
• Assisting the Pre-Release Employment Navigators with hiring events, mock interviews, pre-release job search, recruitment, and readiness portfolio development through face-to-face and technology-based interactions
