About The Position

The Career Development Associate is a full-time, two-year participant in the Mohegan Tribe Launch Program, an early career initiative designed to support and develop Tribal members. Reporting to the Director of Career Development, with day-to-day supervision from an assigned placement supervisor, the Associate completes structured rotations across Tribal Government and affiliated organizations. This role provides hands-on experience, builds occupational knowledge, and develops core professional and leadership skills while contributing to operational and project-based work aligned with organizational needs and individual career interests.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adapt to new environments, and manage multiple priorities
  • Foundational understanding of business principles and professional workplace expectations
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar business tools
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university within the past two years
  • Enrolled Mohegan Tribal Member in good standing
  • Commitment to the two-year Launch Program, with participation in rotational assignments and development activities
  • Ability to meet licensing requirements for specific placements, if applicable
  • Successful candidate must pass the background check in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (ICPA)
  • No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude or issues of integrity
