The Career Coach provides multifaceted career development advising services for students at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional school levels. This role involves helping students explore career options aligned with their academic pursuits, teaching/instructing career and professional development courses, and focusing career coaching in the areas of healthcare, life sciences, and STEM for students at both the Main and Roanoke campuses. The career coach will also serve on retention initiatives, connect students to industry experts, and cultivate experiential learning opportunities regionally and nationally. Additionally, this position involves designing and creating digital newsletters to post internships and full-time jobs with employers representing healthcare and science/research career pathways, cultivating partnerships with faculty, and presenting career-related programs and workshops in the classroom. The role requires gaining proficiency in software platforms including Handshake, Career Coach, CareerShift, Big Interview, and other proprietary technologies. The career coach will also represent CCTD on the Pre-Health/Pre-Med student leadership club.
