DEDO is seeking a Career Coach Program Administrator to support the division and the unit's business needs. This position provides professional-level operational, administrative, coaching and career navigation support to Denver Workforce Services customers and industry partners to support the overall vision/mission/values of DEDO. This position will assist customers within the various Workforce Centers, research jobs and career specific pathways, and serve as a career navigation coach to job seekers. In addition, the position will support program participants through coordinating training, employment, and appropriate career services, in coordination with the one-stop and contracted partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or a related field
  • Three (3) years of professional or technical level experience planning the administrative aspects of a program(s) or training program participants and/or volunteers.
  • One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • 2–3 years of experience in career coaching, curriculum development, training, and facilitation
  • Experience delivering and interpreting educational and occupational skills assessments and providing career readiness training

Responsibilities

  • Participate and recruit as needed at on and off-site and virtual job fairs, career day events, workshops, seminars, and other employment related activities
  • Refer participants to programs and partners that can help them achieve their training/certification goals.
  • Refer customers to participate in work-based learning opportunities and answer inquiries about Workforce Services
  • Assist in serving customers and serve as a backup for the Resource Room Coordinators at the various workforce center locations for at least 2 days/week
  • Facilitate one-on-one coaching, trainings and group orientations with job seekers
  • Work with people with diverse background and navigate resources available to overcome barriers to employment toward achieving their career goals
  • Research industry specific career pathways and roadmaps to assist job seekers with their job search. Directly connect them with jobs that suit them best and encourage them to strive for upward mobility in their careers
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the one-stop operator and related workforce programs to ensure alignment, and seamless service delivery
  • Document services provided to job seekers and employers using the data tracking system implemented by Colorado Department of Labor and Employment and other tools approved by City and County of Denver
  • Create reports of outcome measures, recommend necessary changes, present on programs and services, highlight best practices and promote the agency’s work following the Agency’s communication policies and guidelines
