About The Position

To assist with the day to day cleanliness and upkeep of the Career Center by helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors, while providing basic support with office equipment and daily operations. This position reports to the Career Center Manager or Director of Property Management who evaluates performance annually. Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow work schedules, written instructions, and safety labels related to the proper and safe use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Ability to work independently, complete assigned tasks accurately, and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use custodial tools and equipment responsibly and as instructed.
  • Ability to comply with organizational policies, including dress code requirements and wearing designated identification while on duty.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Able to safely use general cleaning supplies, materials and tools, and to operate floor scrubbers and buffers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the Career Center, including offices, restrooms, and common areas.
  • Use cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies properly to meet office sanitation standards, and maintain equipment in good working condition with appropriate storage after use.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms and high touch surfaces, empty trash and recycling, and replace liners as needed.
  • Monitor and restock restrooms and common areas with necessary supplies such as paper products, soap, and sanitizer.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals in accordance with label instructions.
  • Apply universal precautions when cleaning or responding to blood or other bodily fluids to ensure personal and workplace safety.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or supply needs promptly to the Career Center Manager or designated staff.
  • Provide light custodial support for meetings, trainings, or events, including basic setup and breakdown as requested.
  • Interact respectfully and professionally with staff, students, clients, and visitors while performing assigned duties.
  • Follow established schedules, checklists, and instructions to ensure consistent and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
