About The Position

Telemetry I/3200 is a 27-bed unit that offers nurses the opportunity to learn and manage cardiac rhythms, along with continuing education on cardiac treatments, medications, and drips. In addition to cardiac patients, the unit cares for pulmonary patients (pneumonia and COPD), gastrointestinal patients (gastrointestinal bleeds, small bowel obstructions), and ICU step-down patients requiring care for tracheostomies, percutaneous endo-gastric tubes, total parenteral nutrition, foley catheters, and wound care.

Requirements

• Validation of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA certification is required.
• BLS completion within 90 days of hire date.
• If currently enrolled in a nursing program, completion of Fundamentals of Nursing is a requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Will consider Medical Assistant and teach bedside care.
• Will consider Paramedic/EMT experience and teach bedside care.
• Will consider care technician applicant with at least 3 years of recent patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of Nurse Managers, RN’s and LPN’s.
• Provides for personal care, comfort, and assures patient safety.
• Must be dependable, hardworking, and a team player with a good attitude and professional behavior.
• Applicants will be responsible for vital signs, assisting nursing personnel, and helping patients with basic daily needs.
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
• Other duties as assigned.
