About The Position

80% FTE, 8/12 hour day/evening shifts with a weekend rotation. Hours may vary based on operational needs of the department. You will be working at East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing - Required
  • 2 years of relevant experience in clinical practice – Required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wisconsin or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact - Required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification - Required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or relevant field - Preferred
  • 2 years of relevant experience in the applicable level of care – Preferred
  • 5 years of relevant experience in clinical practice – Preferred
  • Management or Supervisory experience with demonstrated success – Preferred
  • Certification in specialty area - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and front-line mentorship, serving as a clinical resource to ensure the delivery of safe, competent, and evidence-based patient care
  • Partner with leadership to direct reports through the full employment lifecycle from hiring and scheduling to coaching and evaluation, while fostering an engaging environment where staff practice at the top of their license
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage daily resource allocation and optimize patient throughput
  • Lead safety huddles, patient rounding, and audits to ensure compliance with ANA, Magnet, and regulatory standards
  • Lead with strong emotional intelligence to foster a culture of shared governance and continuous improvement, while effectively managing human and material resources to maintain fiscal responsibility
