About The Position

75% FTE, 8/12 Evening/Night Shifts with a weekend and holiday rotation required. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department. You will be working at the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. This position is eligible for shift and weekend differentials depending on hours worked. Pay: Additional components of compensation may include: Shift Differentials: $4/hour evening and $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked. We are seeking a Registered Nurse Care Team Leader to: Join our remarkable highly skilled and committed multidisciplinary team, to provide family-centered care to critically ill or injured children and their families in this state-of-the art 21-bed unit. Provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems. Problems include: acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO. Provide high quality care to complex cardiac conditions. Including complex congenital heart defects, Ventricular Assisted Devices, and heart transplant. Motivate and lead nursing staff while working in collaboration with the interprofessional team. Analyze and resolve problems that fall outside the domain of the nurse clinician and collaborate with other departments and care providers. Mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.

Requirements

  • 2 years experience in an inpatient unit Required
  • 2 years of combined work experience and leadership experience may be considered in lieu of two (2) years’ experience in an inpatient unit Required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
  • Current CPR/BLS certification Required
  • Pediatric ICU (PICU)- PALS within 180 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing Preferred
  • 3 years experience in an acute care inpatient unit Preferred
  • Relevant RN experience with department-specific patient population Preferred
  • National certification in relevant specialty Preferred
