About The Position

This position has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The incumbent accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to whom care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes. Performs the duties and responsibilities within the scope of a Registered Nurse (RN) - Level I, as defined within the job description. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills at the advanced beginner level necessary to provide care that is relevant to the patient(s) under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The incumbent also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs. This role provides professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.

• Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) OR Associates of Science in Nursing Degree (ASN) or Diploma, currently enrolled in a BSN program and BSN completed within 5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the planning organization, development, and coordination of the care planning process upon admission of all new patients
• Plays an active role in maintaining rapport with all departments to ensure a team effort is achieved in developing, implementing, and evaluating care plans for patients.
• Assists in reviewing and evaluating the comprehensive assessment date and helps identify when and what additional assessments are triggered.
• Completes and submits the MDS timely and accurately to ensure every MDS deadline is met.
• Communicates effectively with residents and their families to ensure they are receiving excellent care and their needs are being met throughout their length of stay
• Assists in maintaining the facility assessment calendar, coordinates the completion in of all MDS assessments, and ensures timely completion of assessments, care plans, and other required paperwork.
• Checks and resolves MDS errors
• Ensuring MDS and Care plan compliance with all departments.
