About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking a Care Partner for the Med/Surg 2N unit. This role is PRN (as needed). The Care Partner assists nursing staff and patients with basic care needs, implements orders, and evaluates care for various patients. This position reports directly to the charge nurse and Clinical Director of the unit and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure quality of care. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, quality-focused, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Relevant Work Experience
Less than 1 year of experience

Appropriately matches equipment, and capital resources to task demands.

Has limited experience or training working with clinical applications for patient documentation.
Has limited experience or training working with set up and maintenance of patient exam rooms, supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

Obtains vital signs, Intake and Outputs, and daily weight
Reports any abnormal findings to the nurse and/or charge nurse
Assists patients with activities of daily living, bathing, and toileting
May transcribe physician orders, answers patient all lights and relays messages to staff in a timely manner
May assist physicians with obtaining needed information on patients
Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards
