About The Position

Care Partners assist staff and patients and help create a safe, supportive environment. Under the direction and supervision of RN staff, they perform duties related to the direct and indirect treatment of patients. They also perform computer charting to help ensure patient records are accurate and complete. This position is on 2 South, with a scheduled shift of 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., and requires CNA qualification or completion of the first semester of an RN program.

Requirements

• High school education.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• CNA qualification or completion of the first semester of an RN program.

Responsibilities

• Apply cardiac monitors in accordance with approved policies, procedures, and physician orders.
• Complete assigned tasks in accordance with infection-control standards.
• Document and report care delivered to patients under the direct supervision of an RN.
• Maintain professional knowledge by completing required orientation and competency activities, unit-based in-service programs, and other clinical learning opportunities.
• Promote safety by maintaining high-fall-risk precautions, skin-risk precautions, and patient-specific precautions.
• Promote patient comfort and mobility through ambulation, turning, and repositioning.
• Provide direct, age-appropriate patient care under RN supervision; assist with activities of daily living and perform EKGs, finger-stick blood glucose tests, and bladder scans.
• Provide compassionate, holistic care to patients, families, and coworkers and promote a safe, caring, healing environment.
