Care Partner PRN - Medical ICU - PRN Night Shift 18:45 - 07:15
About The Position
Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role is within the Medical ICU (MICU) Cohort 20, caring for critically ill adult patients ranging in age from 18 years and older. Patients are treated for conditions such as Acute Respiratory Failure, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Multisystem Organ System Failure, Sepsis, Drug Overdoses, Gastrointestinal Bleeds, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Hypertensive Crisis, Acute/Chronic Renal Failure, and Liver Failure/Cirrhosis. The variety of patients admitted to the MICU allows for the development of critical thinking and intensive care assessment skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), OR
- Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), OR
- Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.
