About The Position
The Adult Pulmonary Stepdown Unit environment is exciting, dynamic, and team-oriented. This unit cares for adult patients aged 18 to 100+ who are being treated for post-lung transplant procedures after transfer from the CVICU, post-lung transplant patients being admitted for complications, pulmonary-hypertension, post-endoscopic lung volume reduction procedures, interstitial lung disease exacerbations, patients listed for lung transplant requiring hospital admission, and ECMO graduates. The patient population is unique due to the complicated range of conditions that require a multifaceted approach to patient care. This role assists with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical), OR Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required), OR Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Responsibilities

- Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
- Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
- Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.
