About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is a leading institution in patient care, education, and research. The Neuro ICU department offers a fast-paced, supportive, and sometimes unpredictable environment where adult patients aged 18 and older are treated for a variety of neurological disorders. These include acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, subdural and epidural hematoma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures, Guillain-Barré syndrome, myasthenia gravis exacerbation, meningitis and encephalitis, spinal cord injury, cerebrovascular intervention, and brain and spinal tumor resection. The role of a Care Partner is to assist with the delivery of patient care and maintain unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
AND one of the following:
Current enrollment in a professional nursing RN program with successful completion of the first semester (including nursing fundamentals clinical)
OR Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (certificate of completion required)
OR Minimum of one year of recent experience (within the past two years) as a care partner, nursing assistant, or patient care technician.

Responsibilities

Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Assists with day-to-day delivery of patient care.
