About The Position

The Care Partner II (CNA License Required) in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is a full-time position responsible for providing direct patient care and support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves responding to patient needs, assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, comfort, and nourishment. The Care Partner also manages patient feeding, ambulation, repositioning, and vital sign monitoring. Additionally, the position includes stocking patient rooms, performing secretarial and clerical duties such as preparing charts, answering phones, and relaying messages. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a current Colorado Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months of Certified Nursing Assistant experience, secretary training OR equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Responding to signal lights, bells, intercom system, and bed/tab alarms to determine patients’ needs.
  • Giving care and assistance to patients in respect to their personal hygiene, grooming activity, comfort, rest, nourishment and other health needs.
  • Ensuring meals are ordered within dietary restrictions and collects food trays, feeds patients requiring help, and documents all nutritional and supplemental intake per unit protocols.
  • Transporting patients or assisting patients to ambulate per physician orders.
  • Turning and repositioning patients every two hours as indicated, alone or with assistance, to prevent skin breakdown and pressure ulcers.
  • Applying compresses, ice bags, ted hose, and SCDs as indicated.
  • Takes, records, and reports to RN temperature, blood pressure, pulse (O2 saturation) and respiration rates, height and weight, food and fluid intake/output as directed.
  • Reports abnormal findings immediately to the primary nurse.
  • Obtains point-of-care blood glucose and reports results to RN.
  • Reports abnormal findings immediately to responsible nurse.
  • Organizes/stocks patient rooms as needed and ensures each patient room is tidy and free of environmental hazards.
  • Completes secretarial duties under the direction of professional nursing staff.
  • Prepares charts for admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed.
  • Answers telephone and intercom calls and provides information or relays messages to nursing staff, patients and medical staff.
  • Performs clerical duties as assigned.
