About The Position

This is more than a management role. At The Mountains Nursing Home, you'll have the opportunity to lead a well-established home where compassionate care, strong leadership and meaningful relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Set in the stunning surroundings of the Brecon Beacons, The Mountains is home to people living with dementia, learning disabilities and age-related conditions. We're looking for an experienced Care Home Manager who shares our commitment to delivering outstanding person-centred care while creating a positive, supportive environment for both residents and colleagues. As the Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, governance and regulatory compliance are maintained. You'll lead by example, supporting your team to deliver exceptional care while building positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and the wider community.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing a care home of a similar size or larger
  • Level 5 Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care (or equivalent required for registration)
  • Registration with Social Care Wales
  • A proven track record of leading and developing successful teams
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality standards
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of older people

Responsibilities

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the home
  • Inspiring, developing and supporting a multidisciplinary team
  • Promoting a culture of high-quality, person-centred care
  • Ensuring compliance with Social Care Wales and regulatory requirements
  • Overseeing clinical governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement
  • Managing occupancy, admissions and resident wellbeing
  • Building positive relationships with residents, families and external professionals
  • Managing budgets, resources and staffing levels effectively
  • Leading recruitment, staff development and performance management
  • Driving a positive culture where residents and colleagues can thrive
