About The Position

This position is for a Cardiovascular Ultrasound Tech III in an Outpatient setting. The role involves performing comprehensive ultrasound exams, adhering to established protocols for verification, planning, setup, execution, and reporting. Key responsibilities include patient identification, education, cooperation, and safety during procedures. The role also contributes to quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, the position requires completion of clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, accurate and timely recording of all testing information, prompt reporting of critical results, and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. Effective communication with physicians, patients, and other center personnel is essential, as is fostering a positive and informative demeanor. The role also involves contributing to teamwork, demonstrating enthusiasm, accountability, and problem-solving skills, while also mentoring and developing others. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area, including patient areas and lab environment, is crucial. This includes notifying supervisors of stocking and equipment needs, performing lab opening and closing procedures, and cleaning/maintaining equipment according to infection control policies. The position also requires identifying personal learning needs and responding to department needs, maintaining records for professional growth, attending in-services and meetings, and striving for increased proficiency. Suggestions for new, changing, or more efficient techniques, procedures, and processes are encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams following established protocols.
  • Verifies patient identity and educates/observes patients during procedures for cooperation and safety.
  • Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
  • Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, including accurate and timely recording of information.
  • Ensures prompt and accurate reporting of critical results.
  • Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, patients, and other center personnel.
  • Enhances teamwork by showing motivation, enthusiasm, and accountability.
  • Engages in problem-solving and accepts suggestions positively.
  • Demonstrates understanding of individual performance impact on the team and mentors others.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area and lab environment.
