About The Position
Central Maine Healthcare (CMH), a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving approximately 400,000 residents across central, western, and midcoast Maine. Its network includes Central Maine Medical Center, Bridgton Hospital, Rumford Hospital, and the Maine College of Health Professions. Under the general direction of a Cardiologist or Radiologist, the Cardiovascular Technologist assists with procedures in the cardiovascular lab by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data. The role also involves preparing procedure rooms, maintaining instrument and supply levels, participating in staff meetings and performance improvement activities, training new staff, and assisting with invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
Requirements
- ARRT-R certification and a license as required by the state, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
- BCLS (AHA) certification required upon hire and maintained as current.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Proficient computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab.
- Completion of a cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Scrub procedures or monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and/or therapeutic cardiovascular lab procedures under the general direction of a Cardiologist or Radiologist.
- Ensure procedure rooms are adequately prepared.
- Monitor par levels of instruments and supplies.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
- Assist with training new staff.
- Assist in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
