About The Position

The surgical technologist will provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiac surgical procedures, assisting the surgical team from the scrub position during operations. Responsibilities include proper care and handling of instruments, facilitating room turnover, maintaining sterile techniques, safe handling of sharps, and performing surgical counts as per hospital policy.

Requirements

• NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
• Two (2) years of recent experience in a cardiac OR.
• Able to scrub and circulate.

Nice To Haves

• Operating room experience in a level 1 trauma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and equipment for cardiac surgeries.
• Assist the surgical team during procedures from the scrub position.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure safe handling of sharps.
• Facilitate room turnover between cases.
• Handle solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse.
