About The Position
The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVOR Tech) will perform specialized surgical and diagnostic procedures in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. The tech will be responsible for assisting in cardiovascular surgical procedures and preparing surgical instruments, monitoring patient vitals, and maintaining a sterile field.
Requirements
- BLS Certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA Certificate
- UAP
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience with a focus on open heart surgeries.
- Willingness to cross train into other OR specialties and work with floating requirements.
- Ability to respond to call within 15 minutes and willingness to work holidays.
Responsibilities
- Assist in open heart, CABG, valve surgeries, and other cardiovascular procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and prepared for procedures.
- Monitor patient vitals and report any irregularities during procedures.
- Cross train into general operating room duties if cardiovascular volumes are low.
- Float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter to supplement hours if necessary.
