Provides technical support during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, adhering to established clinical protocols and procedural standards. Prepares patients for outpatient cardiovascular procedures, ensuring accurate documentation, required laboratory testing, and coordination with the cardiovascular team. Assists physicians and nursing staff in delivering safe, patient-centered care throughout cardiovascular procedures. Performs patient assessment and monitoring, including vital signs, oxygen saturation, cardiac rhythms, level of consciousness, and vascular access sites. Operates and interprets cardiovascular monitoring equipment, including hemodynamic systems, electrocardiograms (EKGs), Holter monitors, and cardiac event monitors. Supports procedural activities by performing scrubbing, circulating, and imaging-related duties while maintaining procedural efficiency and sterility. Responds to patient emergencies by assisting with CPR, defibrillation, cardioversion, venipuncture, and medication administration under physician supervision and within scope of practice. Provides patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery expectations, follow-up care, and transfers when necessary. Maintains accurate patient records, documents test results, communicates significant findings, and ensures proper reporting and archival of diagnostic data. Contributes to quality improvement, staff development, customer service initiatives, and the evaluation of new procedures, technologies, and equipment.
