About The Position

The Cardiovascular technician is a caregiver who assists in the performance of the cardiac catheterization. Responsibilities include preparing the patient and the laboratory for the procedure, assisting the Cardiologist in a scrub assistant role for all types of procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, collection and calculation of data. Monitors par level of all instruments and supplies. Assists with the ordering of supplies and procedure charges.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Successful completion of a basic arrhythmia course required
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, EKG/ECG rhythms (normal, abnormal, life-threatening), medical terminology and specialized procedures/tests and techniques required for position
• Knowledge of unlicensed assistant personnel scope of practice for healthcare required
• Cardiac Procedural Equipment and Supplies
• Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job

Nice To Haves

• Associate of Science Degree in cardiovascular technology preferred
• Minimum of one-year catheterization lab experience preferred
