About The Position
The Cardiovascular Technician is a caregiver who assists with cardiac catheterization procedures. The role includes preparing patients and the laboratory, assisting the Cardiologist in a scrub assistant role for all types of procedures, monitoring hemodynamics, and collecting and calculating data. The technician monitors par levels of instruments and supplies and assists with ordering supplies and procedure charges.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of a basic arrhythmia course.
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of EKG/ECG rhythms, including normal, abnormal, and life-threatening rhythms.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and specialized procedures, tests, and techniques required for the position.
- Knowledge of the scope of practice for unlicensed assistant personnel in healthcare.
- Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
Nice To Haves
- Associate of Science degree in cardiovascular technology.
- Minimum of one year of catheterization lab experience.
