The Cardiovascular Technician II EKG Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), cardiac stress testing, and Holter monitor application and removal. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient care settings, ensuring accurate data collection and patient safety throughout all procedures. The technician works closely with physicians and clinical staff to provide high-quality cardiovascular diagnostic services. A caregiver in this position will work primarily on the evening shift from 3:00pm to 11:30pm. The primary work location is Fairview, with coverage at Avon and Lutheran as needed. Weekend and holiday coverage is required.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
Knowledge of EKG techniques, methods, equipment and peripheral devices sufficient to provide technical support

Nice To Haves

6 months experience as an ECG tech and six months experience in Stress Testing preferred
Completion of a Cardiac Technician and/or EEG program
Credentials as an Allied Health Professional

Responsibilities

Perform 12-lead Electrocardiograms, Holter Monitor Hook-Ups and Cardiac Stress Testing, including 24-hour, 48-hour, and 30-day event monitors and/or EEG testing.
Notify physicians, nurses or managers of abnormal results.
Notify secretaries of needed supplies.
Maintain/troubleshoot equipment and notify Clinical Engineering of ongoing problems that cannot be resolved.
Process test results before and following physician interpretations.
