About The Position

Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, a 116-bed community hospital located in Hartsville, SC, is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech. This hospital has received numerous awards and recognitions for its excellence in patient care and safety. The Vascular Echo Sonographer performs non-invasive diagnostic procedures to assess cardiovascular health, including echocardiography, vascular studies, and electrocardiograms (EKGs). This role ensures the acquisition of high-quality images and accurate diagnostic data to support physicians in the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Registered or registry-eligible with ARDMS (RDCS and RVT) or CCI (RCS and RVS); must obtain registry within 12 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy and physiology
  • Proficient in the use of ultrasound systems and PACS documentation
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and allied health personnel
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a clinical setting
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and assist with patient positioning and equipment transport
  • Must demonstrate strong critical thinking and the ability to function with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in echocardiography and vascular sonography preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic echocardiograms, carotid duplex studies, venous/arterial studies, and EKGs in accordance with established protocols
  • Reviews patient history and communicates exam expectations and procedures
  • Operates imaging equipment and adjusts parameters for optimal image quality
  • Documents findings, ensures completion of exams, and communicates critical results as needed
  • Responds appropriately to changes in patient condition and alerts nursing/medical staff
  • Assists with safety checks, infection control procedures, and equipment troubleshooting
  • Maintains adequate patient comfort, dignity, and privacy throughout procedures
  • Participates in call rotation and weekend/holiday schedules as required
  • Ensures timely completion of documentation and exam logs
  • Supports continuous quality improvement efforts and maintains competency in imaging standards
