About The Position

As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will perform specialized interventional diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under physician guidance. You will prepare patients, operate advanced radiologic equipment, and provide critical data for interpretation. You will ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently and maintain knowledge of current standards and protocols. The role requires advanced technical proficiency in cardiovascular imaging, attention to detail, commitment to patient safety, and continuous learning as part of a collaborative Cath Lab team.

The position is at Dignity Health - Mercy San Juan Medical Center, a 377-bed acute care nonprofit hospital in Carmichael, California. The hospital provides services including trauma care, neonatal intensive care, heart care, cancer care, women’s health, and neurology.

Requirements

• Registered Certified Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
• Cardiac catheterization laboratory experience with demonstrated knowledge of cardiac rhythms and cardiac hemodynamics.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Nice To Haves

• Radiology Technician with a current x-ray and fluoroscopy license.

Responsibilities

• Use technology, procedures, protocols, standards, and interventions specific to the assigned unit.
• Recognize emergency situations, including life-threatening arrhythmias, and respond effectively and appropriately.
• Proactively notify the RN or physician of rhythm changes.
• Validate clinical alarms.
• Anticipate patient and unit needs during emergency or code situations without requiring direction.
• Safely operate and maintain unit equipment.
• Prepare patients and perform specialized interventional diagnostic and therapeutic examinations of the heart and blood vessels under physician guidance.
• Operate radiologic equipment and contribute data for interpretation.
