Requirements

  • Graduate from a Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT(R) or JRC-CVT certification required.
  • Minimum of one-year radiological technologist experience.
  • Complete understanding of the functionality of the EPIC and PACS programs as they relate to the cardiovascular lab.
  • Basic scheduling functions to coordinate procedures with physicians, imaging modalities, Anesthesia and required supplies.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced certification ARRT(VI), ARRT(CV), ARRT(CI) preferred.
  • Prior experience in an IR or Cardiology lab is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and assist physicians in performing a variety of special studies, including interventional procedures.
  • Perform sterile technique and scrub duties according to standard care plans, physician preference, policy, and procedure.
  • Prepare sterile tables and environments for interventional procedures.
  • Position patients to obtain optimal imaging of anatomical structures, minimizing radiation exposure and contrast agent injection volumes.
  • Practice radiation safety for patients and staff.
  • Learn and utilize radiological computer functions and equipment controls in the cardiovascular lab and operating room.
  • Operate sophisticated equipment such as computerized tomography scanners, computerized fluoroscopy, biplane imaging, pressure injectors, and patient monitors.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide patient care within the scope of practice for cardiovascular technologists.
  • Complete understanding of EPIC and PACS programs as they relate to the cardiovascular lab.
  • Perform basic scheduling functions to coordinate procedures with physicians, imaging modalities, anesthesia, and required supplies.
  • Provide staff and patient education for post-procedural care.
  • Maintain regulatory training per hospital policy.
