The Cardiovascular Key Account Manager (KAM) will report into a Cardiovascular Accounts Director. Their primary responsibility is to assess and diagnose the current business environment in each of their assigned accounts in relation to Amgen Cardiovascular products and plan/execute actions for success in these accounts. The ideal candidate will be able to work internally through the matrix team, and externally with customers to develop strong relationships for Amgen to support portfolio performance and brand strategies at multiple touch points and levels within complex partner organizations. This role serves as a strategic lead for assigned key accounts, executing compliant, innovative strategies to engage priority providers whose availability requires tailored approaches. The KAM will ensure institutional availability across inpatient and ambulatory care settings and lead implementation initiatives that enable sustainable, institution/system utilization. They will develop and execute comprehensive account plans aligned to cardiovascular business unit strategy and informed by institutional needs, business performance, and identified access or implementation barriers. Collaboration with field teams, including medical science liaisons, is essential. The KAM is responsible for meeting with key opinion leaders in Cardiology, Lipidology, Pharmacy, and P&T Committees within assigned Health Systems. They will present approved data/messages and ensure compliant delivery, driving appropriate utilization of approved CV products and coordinating pull-through and access efforts with other sales colleagues. Monitoring business performance, market dynamics, and identifying drivers/barriers are key. The KAM will coordinate Amgen home office engagement with customers and work with matrix and alliance team members to arrange approved programs and initiatives. Building professional relationships with key customer decision-makers, including Hospital Pharmacy, Lipid Clinical, Heart Failure Clinical and Quality Directors, and hospital finance decision makers is crucial. Coordination with Access Specialists to support open access to the Amgen portfolio and providing field intelligence to various teams are also responsibilities. The role requires a strong understanding of the healthcare environment, including hospital committee structures, P&T processes, and reimbursement processes.
