This role involves assisting in all aspects of invasive cardiovascular procedures. Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, monitoring hemodynamic parameters, operating interventional equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. The specialist will document supplies and implants, prepare and position patients, and educate them about procedures. A strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and equipment operation is required. The role also includes radiation safety compliance, sterile tray setup and turnover, patient history review, workflow coordination, and inventory maintenance. Daily checklists, equipment safety checks, and preventative maintenance are also key duties. The specialist will assist physicians with contrast media administration and scrub with Vascular Surgeons/Interventional Radiologists as needed. Proficiency in computerized informatics and participation in departmental training and quality improvement initiatives are expected. Use of lead apron and other PPE is mandatory. On-call duties for off-shifts, weekends, and holidays are required. The position emphasizes providing excellent service to all individuals encountered.
