About The Position

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus is seeking a dynamic and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join their exceptional Cardiothoracic Team. This role focuses on delivering superior patient care in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. The Nurse Practitioner will first assist in cutting-edge Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgeries, manage and coordinate inpatient care from admission to discharge, and collaborate closely with a supportive team of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, fellow APPs, nurses, and specialists. The position offers access to the latest technology in cardiac care, including advanced valvular interventions, minimally invasive procedures, and state-of-the-art facilities for TAVR, robotic surgery, and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) placement. The health system utilizes Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to automate documentation, reduce administrative burden, and improve patient flow, contributing to a better work-life balance. The role provides an exceptional quality of life with clearly defined work schedules and a supportive team environment.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of Cardiothoracic and Vascular APP experience, preferred.
Proficiency with Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH).
Certifications in BLS and ACLS (preferred).
Exceptional clinical judgment and procedural skills.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

First assist in cutting-edge Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgeries.
