About The Position

The Cardiovascular/Cath Lab Technologist provides quality care in a mobile or fixed cardiac catheterization laboratory and a positive interpersonal experience for patients. The technologist assists cardiologists in invasive cardiology procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and recording hemodynamic parameters in accordance with policies and procedures. The role also includes operating blood glucose and oxygen saturation devices and reporting their results according to policy and procedure.

Requirements

• Registry or certification in an allied health field such as Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Paramedic, or a certificate of completion from an approved Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) program.
• A minimum of two years of equivalent on-the-job training and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Current certification in the applicable allied health field.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• Experience in a cath lab, cardiac nursing, special procedures, or respiratory therapy with cardiac or intensive care patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care in a mobile or fixed cardiac cath lab.
• Provide patients with a positive interpersonal experience.
• Assist cardiologists in invasive cardiology, including scrubbing and circulating.
• Monitor and record hemodynamic parameters in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Operate blood glucose and oxygen saturation devices and report results in accordance with policies and procedures.
