About The Position

This role involves performing cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, thoracic resections, and minimally invasive techniques. The position requires providing pre-operative evaluations, surgical planning, and post-operative management. Responsibilities also include conducting inpatient consults, ICU rounds, and follow-up care for cardiac and thoracic patients. The physician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, interpret diagnostic studies, and maintain accurate documentation according to hospital protocols.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Active state medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • Current DEA registration
  • Extensive experience in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Strong leadership, communication, and critical‑care management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Must be board-certified

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, thoracic resections, and minimally invasive techniques (based on facility needs).
  • Provide pre‑operative evaluations, surgical planning, and post‑operative management.
  • Conduct inpatient consults, ICU rounds, and follow‑up care for cardiac and thoracic patients.
  • Collaborate with cardiac anesthesiology, perfusion teams, intensivists, cardiology, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care.
  • Interpret diagnostic studies such as echocardiograms, CT scans, cardiac catheterization results, and pulmonary function tests.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
