About The Position

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus is looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our exceptional Cardiothoracic Team. We seek a dynamic, motivated professional who is passionate about delivering superior patient care in cardiothoracic surgery. This role involves first assisting in cutting-edge cardiac and thoracic surgeries, with expertise in endoscopic vein harvesting preferred. The position includes managing and coordinating inpatient care, ensuring continuity from admission to discharge. You will collaborate closely with an experienced and supportive team of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, fellow APP, nurses, and specialists. Access to the latest technology in cardiac care, including advanced valvular interventions, minimally invasive procedures, and state-of-the-art facilities for TAVR, and robotic surgery is provided. Smart Technology, including Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology, is utilized to automate documentation, reduce administrative burden, improve patient flow, and ensure accurate coding, leading to better work-life balance and revenue. The role offers an exceptional quality of life with clearly defined work schedules and a supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Cardiothoracic APP experience, preferred.
  • Proficiency with Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH), Open or Endoscopic.
  • Certifications in BLS and ACLS (preferred).
  • Exceptional clinical judgment and procedural skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Dedicated to teamwork, quality patient care, and professional growth.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in endoscopic vein harvesting preferred.
  • Radial Artery Harvesting is a Plus!
