About The Position
The Cardiopulmonary Technician I supports the organization by performing various basic cardiovascular and pulmonary tests ordered by the patients provider.
Requirements
- One year work experience as a Medical Assistant or closely related position
- High School Education or equivalent required
- Current BLS certification or completion within 6 months of employment is required
- Ability to deal with the public efficiently, courteously, politely, and effectively required
- Basic computer skills which enable the entry and retrieval of data including the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook required
- Must demonstrate consistent professional conduct
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in RT/PFT lab preferred
- Experience with EMR systems preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs ECGs on patients during scheduled appointments as requested by provider
- Provide patient education and hook up of short and long-term holter monitors
- Performs exercise oximetry tests
- Monitors cardiac status during stress echocardiograms (treadmill and chemical)
- Performs basic pulmonary Function Testing
- Prepares testing rooms for patient tests, keeping the rooms neat and clean
- Demonstrates appropriate and accurate documentation of patient test results
- Inventory and order medical and office supplies or equipment
- Assists in billing, data entry, and lab equipment care/maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
