About The Position

Responsible for the operations and management of the MMMC Cardiology and IR departments and for leading the planning and organizing of their strategic direction. Will help to ensure the delivery of quality patient care while improving standards of care delivery, standards of practice and fiscal stewardship. Ensure competence and education of staff, maintain and promote clinical management competency and professional growth in the work environment. Accept responsibility to develop and maintain positive physician, customer/patient and inter-departmental relationships. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Appropriate clinical background (R.N., R.T., R.R.T.) maintaining current Registry/Certification and Texas License status
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Experience having responsibility for capital budget in excess of $1 million, operational budgets in excess of $500,000 annually.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in writing business proposals, pro formas, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administrative organization, management functions, and overall operations of the Cardiology Services departments at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
  • Strategic planning, program growth and development, project management, human resource management and management of other resources are essential components of this position.
  • Ensures development and implementation of appropriate systems and processes to facilitate optimal operations, patient throughout, and flow of information for Cardiology Services.
  • Recruits, hires, and coaches Cardiology Services leadership team members (Manager, Supervisors, and Clinical Coordinators).
  • Oversees human resources issues and processes, staff recruitment, retention, staff satisfaction, and developmental needs.
  • Established and maintains professional relationships with Cardiologist, Medical Directors, associated medical staff, peers, and associates internal and external to the organization.
  • Works collaboratively with senior leaders and physicians when addressing clinical practice, quality improvement, operational, and planning issues concerning Cardiology Services and the growth of the service line.
  • Develops capital and operational budgets for all areas of Cardiology Services.
  • Assures areas operate within budgetary guidelines in a cost effective manner.
  • Effectively and accurately justifies, quantifies, and explains any variances in salary, inventory, and other operational budgets.
  • Through effective use of the Materials Analysis Committee, negotiates price savings with vendors for equipment and supplies as necessary.
  • Ensures implementation of Cardiology Services values program to include Quality Assurance & Management areas.
  • Organizational Goals (Growth, Best Service, Best Quality, Best Value, and Best Place to Work), 90 Day Plan Development and reviews.
  • In conjunction with the Medical Director, Cardiology management team, and clinical personnel, assures compliance areas within the Cardiology departments with external regulatory and accrediting agencies are met or exceeded.
  • Oversees the processes required that will enable Cardiology Services to participate in research and investigational study initiatives.
  • Develops and implements Cardiology and IR business development and strategic plans in conjunction with Methodist Health System and appropriate section strategic initiatives and goals.

  • Oversees the processes required that will enable Cardiology and IR Services to participate in research and investigational study initiatives.
  • Maintains a constructive and collaborative relationship with other MHS departments.
