The Cardiology VAD Nurse Coordinator plays a crucial role in the clinical management of patients who have ventricular assist devices (VADs), both before and after implantation. This position collaborates closely with the Advanced Heart Failure team to coordinate the evaluation of potential VAD candidates, manage discharge plans, and provide ongoing follow-up care in clinic visits. The coordinator is also responsible for educating nursing staff and patients/caregivers on VAD equipment maintenance and safety. Additionally, they will provide education and support to community healthcare professionals who may encounter VAD patients, serving as a clinical expert consultant within the hospital and to the broader community. This role ensures compliance with all relevant state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
