About The Position

Performs basic cardiac diagnostic procedures, scheduling and other office related tasks deemed necessary. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time. Performs electrocardiography examinations according to departmental procedures. Processes electrocardiography results for physician review and interpretation. Documents and charges all procedures per departmental policy and procedures. Performs operator maintenance, cleaning, and maintains department inventory of equipment as needed. Maintains records and schedules according to departmental policy. Assist and gives practical instructions to new employees and staff members as needed. Participates in the collection of quality assurance data. Performs all applicable exams on pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations and adheres to age specific requirements as outlined in Erickson’s Development Model. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BLS certified by the American Heart Association required
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
  • Verbal ability to understand test procedures and to explain them to patients
  • Ability to discern between abnormal patterns against characteristics of normal patterns
  • Clerical ability to accurately record patient info, schedule, chart, and charge
  • Ability to understand and learn scientific and technical activities to operate equipment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work one-on-one with multiple age groups
  • Maintain composure under stressful situations
  • Work environment demands flexibility, excellent communication, and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Show respect for all patients and customers alike and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times
  • Manual dexterity required to perform diagnostic tests
  • Ability to use both hands independently
  • Excellent visual and auditory acuity
  • Lifting requirements are moderate to heavy
  • Assist patients on treadmill, lifting patients, pushing equipment, and transporting patients as needed
  • Exposure to minimal amount of radiation
  • Works inside with sufficient lighting
  • Potential for eyestrain due to clerical duties
  • BLS - American Heart Association
