Conducts recordings of electromotive instant variation in heart muscle of patient using electrocardiograph to provide information for diagnosis of all heart ailments. Moves electrodes along areas of the chest to record electromotive variations happening in various heart muscle areas. Explains testing procedures to patients. Makes preliminary analysis and interpretation of test results to facilitate physicians’ study and diagnosis. Attaches electrodes to chest, legs, and arms of patient, and connects electrodes to ECG machine. Monitors electrocardiogram for normal and abnormal patterns. Attaches electrodes of electrocardiograph or Holter monitor to patient to record information over extended period. Edits and forwards final test outcomes to attending physician or healthcare professional to analyze and interpret data. Performs assessments on patients of various conditions and ages considering the physical and physiological needs of every patient. Develops and maintains positive interpersonal relations with other department personnel. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
