About The Position

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by a talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life. This role performs a variety of noninvasive and invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures including performing EKG's, event monitoring application, pacemaker interrogation and, under the direction of a physician, perform stress testing procedures. Responsibilities include taking vital signs and monitoring patient responses throughout diagnostic testing, rooming patients for visits, and reviewing their past medical history and medications. This position will also require occasional duties as a medical secretary when needed to support coverage which may include chart management, general receptionist and clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the department.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in diagnostic cardiology.
  • Experience in cardiac stress testing and arrhythmia recognition is essential.
  • Effective customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or certification in Cardiovascular Technology
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program
  • Pacemaker experience is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Experience with the EMR Epic preferred
