The Cardiology Support Clinical Pharmacist at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center is a full-time position primarily responsible for overseeing pharmaceutical care. This includes retrieving and evaluating biomedical literature, designing medication therapy regimens, and providing patient counseling on medication therapy, adverse effects, compliance, and administration. The role involves designing, recommending, monitoring, and evaluating patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens, implementing recommendations, and documenting them appropriately. The pharmacist will review and interpret medication orders, participate in medical emergencies, and actively support medication safety and quality improvement initiatives. They will also collaborate with the healthcare team on formulary adherence, assist in acquiring non-formulary medications, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulations. Additionally, the role includes preparing, dispensing, and overseeing the proper storage and handling of medications. The pharmacist will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents, mentor and train pharmacy teammates, and direct the work of pharmacy support staff to ensure safe and efficient workflows. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate patient care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
