About The Position

This position is for a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant providing ongoing inpatient coverage. The average patient census is 10-12. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00a-6:00p, with willingness to accommodate a 7 on/7 off schedule. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The EMR system used is Cerner. Credentialing takes 90 days, but temporary privileges are available. The reason for coverage is a long-term permanent search.

Requirements

Active North Carolina licensure
Board certification
AHA BLS certification
Minimum 1-year Cardiology experience or equivalent
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in North Carolina OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in North Carolina
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
