About The Position

Norwalk Hospital has an excellent opportunity for a PRN Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Norwalk, Connecticut. The NP or PA in Cardiology provides coverage for stress testing (Regular and Nuclear), noninvasive Cardiology testing and cross covers TEE and cardioversions. The NP or PA supports patient care by performing/supporting inpatient and outpatient consults. The NP or PA works with the CHF Readmission Team on improvement projects. The practice has three cardiologists and two advanced practitioners and is located in suburban Fairfield County about one hour outside of New York City. Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, it is associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. The Medical Group employs 1000+ physicians advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York. The Heart and Vascular Institute is affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic. Norwalk Hospital is ideally situated in Fairfield County, Connecticut, along the Long Island Sound, offering cultural diversity and venues for 4 season outdoor and indoor recreation, with excellent public and private schools and universities. Requirements

  • Board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • At least one year of advanced practice experience in Cardiology or Medicine and/or a solid history of nursing experience in Cardiology or Medicine settings
  • Excellent communication, clinical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well both with a large multidisciplinary team as well as independently
  • State of Connecticut Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
  • Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration
  • Federal DEA

Responsibilities
