Southcoast Health is seeking a talented Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP-PA) interested in a balanced mix of inpatient hospital care and outpatient office care. The outpatient care component will involve a blend of general cardiology and heart failure cases. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, on a day shift with no weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements. The role is located in Fall River, MA, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field is required
  • Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required
  • Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Physician Assistant is required
  • Masters of Science Degree in Nursing is required (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Nurse Practitioner Certificate/Physician Assistant Certificate is required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology is required
  • Current Massachusetts Nursing Practitioner's License or Physician Assistant License/Certificate is required

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties in being responsible for evaluation, care, and management of patients in an outpatient clinic setting or inpatient setting under the rules and regulations of the Massachusetts governing Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant practice
  • Conduct hospital rounds as directed by individually assigned physicians
  • Assist in the coordination of care and discharge planning
  • Perform exams, episodic illness visits and follow up care visits
  • Ordering laboratory and diagnostic testing and prescribing medications as needed
