The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Cardiology will provide diagnosis and treatment for common acute illnesses, prevention and maintenance care to patients with stable chronic illnesses, and perform interim physical exams for healthy patients within nurse protocol. This role involves assessing patients, performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic studies, establishing differential diagnoses, and developing appropriate treatment plans. The NP/PA will also educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention, maintain accurate patient records, and participate in continuing education to maintain clinical competency. Management responsibilities include supervising and intervening with clinical issues, supporting triage, and providing education and feedback to clinical staff. The role also involves adhering to drug protocols, ensuring quality care, maintaining patient confidentiality, and following safety precautions. The position requires active participation in quality and performance improvement initiatives and continuing education.
