About The Position
The Cardiology Laboratory Vascular Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound services upon the order of a qualified healthcare provider, following the policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Cardiology Laboratory Department and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Depending on the assigned clinic location, duties may include venous and/or arterial studies and participation in therapeutic Vein Clinic procedures. The role uses a Radiology Information System (RIS) for clerical processes in conjunction with a designated Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). The technologist may also be assigned other technical or non-technical duties when the supervisor determines that their training, experience, and credentials are adequate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited program.
- RVT or RVS certification.
- BLS certification.
- At least 2 years of direct clinical experience in vascular ultrasound, including 1 cumulative year in venous sonography.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard and grasp elements of image acquisition.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- May be required to work extended shifts as directed.
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare-related degree.
- Experience with radiofrequency vein ablations, other therapeutic vein agents and procedures, PACS, and RIS.
- Bilingual or multilingual ability.
Responsibilities
- Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment using high-frequency sound waves according to provider orders and department and clinic policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Perform venous and/or arterial studies or participate in therapeutic Vein Clinic procedures, depending on the assigned clinic site.
- Use a Radiology Information System (RIS) to complete clerical processes in conjunction with a designated PACS.
- Perform other technical or non-technical duties when training, experience, and credentials are deemed adequate by the supervisor.
