About The Position

BayCare Medical Group is seeking a board-certified cardiologist to serve as the Founding Fellowship Director for a new Cardiology Fellowship Program at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida. This role involves providing leadership and oversight for the program's planning, organization, execution, and administration. The director will set the strategic vision, ensure excellence in standards, quality, and national reputation, and collaborate with physician practices and hospital clinical services to integrate fellowship training. Key responsibilities include advancing fellowship education and ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements. The position offers the chance to shape a brand-new program from its inception within a supportive, high-volume cardiology practice at a hospital recognized as one of the nation's Top 50 cardiovascular hospitals.

Requirements

Eligible for medical licensure in Florida.
At least three (3) years of documented educational and / or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency OR cardiovascular disease fellowship.
Proven ability to balance administrative leadership with hands-on teaching and clinical care.
Board certification in Cardiology Non-Invasive or Invasive and Clinical Cardiology expertise.

Nice To Haves

5 or more years of experience working in cardiovascular medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with physician practices and hospital clinical services to integrate fellowship training.
Lead initiatives to advance fellowship education.
Ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation requirements.
Participate in an excellent group practice within BayCare Medical Group Cardiology seeing patients with a broad range of cardiac conditions.
Engage in opportunities and support for clinical trials and clinical research.
Develop subspecialty or focused practice interests within the health system.
