About The Position

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role with a day shift, Monday-Friday schedule. The Cardiology Diagnostics Support Specialist Sr. rotates support alongside Sonographers, Exercise Physiologists and Technicians, Monitor Specialists, and Cardiology Technicians for daily clinical and clerical processes. This role requires an extensive understanding of the products and services performed by the department with a focus on high-impact activities. The position involves scheduling multidisciplinary testing procedures, monitoring patient/staff flow, and coordinating diagnostic tests. Responsibilities include performing basic cardiac testing procedures such as EKG and applying heart monitoring devices, providing quality reports to ordering providers, facilitating diagnostic outside interpretations, and managing billing and auditing processes. The role also involves facilitating the electronic transfer of echocardiographic images and handling clerical tasks related to diagnostic testing, including interpretation facilitation, distribution, correspondence, documentation, and records management.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent, required.
  • CPR certification, required.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with an acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with patients of all ages (pediatric to adult).
  • Ability to function with flexibility and adaptability to an ever changing and fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of equipment used with the specialty of Cardiology.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-Secondary school within a healthcare related field preferred.
  • 1 year of healthcare related experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules multidisciplinary testing procedures; monitor patient/staff flow and operation within assigned area.
  • Assists in coordinating diagnostic tests.
  • Performs basic cardiac testing procedures according to test requests such as EKG, and application of heart monitoring devices; and provide quality reports to ordering providers.
  • Facilitates diagnostic outside interpretations.
  • Provides timely and efficient billing and auditing processes.
  • Facilitates electronic transfer of echocardiographic images to and from outside institutions.
  • Provides clerical tasks associated with advanced and routine diagnostic testing procedures, including interpretation facilitation, distribution, verbal and written correspondence, documentation, and records management.
