About The Position

The Cardiology Diagnostic Scheduler is responsible for scheduling cardiology diagnostic and device appointments and performing various general reception duties. This role requires a high school diploma, accurate typing and computer skills, good oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of medical and cardiology terminology. The position is in a medical office setting and adheres to HIPAA privacy standards.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments for cardiology diagnostic services including: echo, nuclear, stress, telemetry, and device.
  • Schedule in appropriate rooms based on block or open time and ensure time allotments for each case.
  • Monitor needs for each case to avoid conflicts with scheduling.
  • Attempt to meet the scheduling needs of the patient and physician.
  • Help patients setup their monitors and troubleshoot issues with sending transmissions.
  • Check companies’ sites for transmissions due.
  • Coordinate with patients and company reps for device checks at Springfield Clinic and outreach clinics.
  • Triage calls for nurse and have patient send download or give appointment to assign for device issues as warranted.
  • Coordinate device checks and other appointments to meet patient needs.
  • Scan/troubleshoot downloads for significant device issues and pass on to nurse or doctor for evaluation.
  • Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
