About The Position

The Cardiology Aide in the Cardiac Cath Lab is responsible for assisting patients throughout their visit, from arrival to departure. This role involves ensuring patient safety, managing belongings, transporting patients via wheelchair or cart, and delivering items within the facility. The aide will also maintain transport equipment, adhere to infection control protocols, and communicate with unit staff regarding patient return from procedures. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days.
Ability to follow both written and oral instructions accurately and consistently.

Nice To Haves

One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
Will consider CNA, MA, or students of any related healthcare profession (nursing, radiology, etc)

Responsibilities

Determines patient name and DOB, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written or oral instructions.
Directs or escorts incoming patients from designated areas.
Cares for patient's belongings accompanying patient.
Assist patients with walking to prevent accidents by falling, or transports non-ambulatory patients with wheelchair or cart.
Transports patient, alone or with assistance, in bed, patient cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within facility during patient stay.
Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items.
Utilizes appropriate scripting, barriers and patient identifiers.
Maintains, cleans all transport equipment.
Observes and follows all universal precautions and infection control techniques.
Works with unit staff to assist patient upon return from procedure or exam by informing appropriate staff that the patient has returned.
All other duties as assigned.
